Middleton Transport - A Family Owned & Run Business For Over 60 Years

Middleton transport is run by Dave Clough, who took over the business in 1998 when the previous owner retired.

Prior to that Dave ran a transport business in his own name for 12 years, and prior to that worked for the family business for over ten years.

This family business was established by Dave’s grandfather in the early 1950s (see the photos of the 1950s coal wagon and removal truck) and has passed through the generations to the present day, so you might say that transport is in the blood.

Dave likes to think that he has learnt a little bit about customer requirements during that time, and although in our fast moving business world the era of long chats over coffee, about family and putting the world to rights may have gone. It is still nice to see the people you meet over the years moving on in their lives and careers.

All in all Middleton’s pride themselves on adapting to the ever varied and changing requirements of the transport business, while retaining their individual character, and long established roots (or should that be routes?)

We also support several charities and sponsor a local under tens football team and a retired walking group.
